About Ryokan Fujiya

Ryokan Fujiya is a beautifully renovated inn designed by a famous Japanese architect.

The interior of the inn has been beautifully designed with wooden louvers that change their expression with time, depending on the sunlight and lights that come in.

The famous architect's concept is to renew the building while inheriting the accumulation of time and memory, resulting in an attractive appearance.

They say that staying at Ryokan Fujiya is about enjoying an extraordinary experience.

All rooms are located along the river, so you can see the view of the hot spring resort from your room.

The rooms have been remodeled in a modern way, so you can enjoy a comfortable stay.

The rooms are not only Japanese-style rooms but also Western-style rooms with beds, so those who do not like to sleep on futon mattresses on tatami mats may choose Western-style rooms.

There are five different types of private baths to enjoy the hot spring baths, so you can enjoy visiting different baths.

The meals are Japanese, but the cuisine is said to be something to be savored by the five senses, and is Japanese kaiseki with seasonal ingredients.

This inn is recommended for those who want to enjoy a wonderful stay at a designer ryokan in Ginzan Onsen.

About access

Fujiya offers a free shuttle service from JR Oishida Station by reservation only, so it is recommended to use this service.

The bamboo bath is a Japanese-style bath with bamboo walls around the bathtub, and even the mouth of the bathtub is made of bamboo.

The hiba (cypress) bath has a bathtub, walls, floor, and washbasin made of hiba (cypress), and visitors can bathe while enjoying its tranquilizing aroma.
(PR)

The basement baths have stairs leading down from the dressing room to the basement and were in place before the ryokan was renovated.

The stone bath is made of black stone and has a large bathtub.

On the third floor is a half-open-air bath made of cypress.
(PR)

The semi-open-air baths are most recommended as they offer a sense of freedom.

Private baths are available 24 hours a day at any time.

About the cuisine of the meal

Dinner is a feast for the eyes and palate with creative cuisine.

The dining place is usually the room, but if there are many people, it is the indoor terrace on the first floor.

The meal includes an aperitif, appetizer, soup, sashimi, grilled rockfish, meat dish, soba noodles, and dessert.

word-of-mouth evaluation

Contributor A.
This was our first visit to Ginzan Onsen and we stayed one night.
A week before our stay, we received a phone call to confirm that we could not drive to the hotel, which we had originally planned to do, and we were picked up at Oishida station.
After checking in, we were given a tour of the baths in the hotel and were surprised to find that they were all private baths with different concepts.
Although we were not able to take all of the baths, we had a very pleasant stay.

When I called from the parking lot, they came to pick me up and carried my large luggage.
He also explained some of the ryokans in the Ginzan Onsen district.
Entering through the entrance, my first thought was that this ryokan is a stylish and shining ryokan where everything is focused on appearance.
It was renovated in 2006 and redesigned by a famous architect to keep the old timbers and simplicity.
I was surprised to see that the entire building, including the doors and staircase, is more a part of the design than anything else.
All the rooms also face the river side, and it is wonderful to have the gas-lit cityscape all to yourself from your room at night.
If you expect a small amount of food, you will be served a solid amount of dishes to enjoy such as Obanazawa beef, handmade wanko soba noodles, sashimi, and grilled gindara (silver cod).
The five private baths are available 24 hours a day in any available spot until check-out.
The semi-open-air bath, Tenku, is located on the third floor, and the stone, hiba, bamboo, and underground baths on the first floor are each stylish in their own way.
The hot spring water is free-flowing, and each of the private baths is wonderful to have all to yourself, so you can soak as much as you like.
Fujiya is a stylish and modern reflection of the nostalgic Silvermine Onsen of the Taisho era, and was a great place to enjoy an extraordinary experience.
