Rooms, meals, baths, and accessibility of Honkan Koseki-ya, which has been completely renovated and made more comfortable in Ginzan Onsen

About Honkan Kosekiya

Honkan Kosekiya is a Taisho era wooden building that was completely renovated in 2022, giving it a new look and making the rooms, lounge, and other facilities more comfortable for guests.

The entire renovation has not lost the retro Taisho style of the building, and it is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.

The exterior and the night view of this onsen ryokan have a classic appearance, just like Ginzan Onsen.

The rooms are not only Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats, but also bed rooms, which are recommended for those who do not like futon mattresses on tatami mats.

Since Honkan Kosekiya does not have a restaurant, dinner is served at two restaurants in the hot spring resort area.

You will have to walk from the inn to the two restaurants at dinner time.

If you prefer to have kaiseki dinner in your room or at a restaurant, as is customary at Japanese ryokan, this is not the inn for you.

Breakfast is served at the Retromodern Lounge in the ryokan.

Since the hotel is all-inclusive, you can drink as much alcohol as you like in the lounge.

Of course, alcohol is also free when dining out for dinner.

There is a large black inkstone bath and a Taisho style white tiled bath, and the men's and women's baths are switched by the hour.

The baths have been completely renovated and are stylish and unique from the other baths in Ginzan Onsen.

Honkan Kosekiya is recommended for those who are attracted by the renovated and comfortable stay and the all-inclusive alcohol service.

About access

Honkan Kosekiya offers a pick-up service from JR Oshida Station by reservation only, so it is recommended to use this service.

For those who rent a car, the parking lot is located 600 meters before the Ginzan Onsen Hot Spring Resort.

When you arrive at the parking lot, call the inn and they will pick you up and take you to the hot spring resort.

The location of Honkan Kosekiya is 130 meters from the bridge at the entrance to Ginzan Onsen Hot Spring Resort, so it takes about 2 minutes to walk there.

About the Room

Honkan Koseokiya has Japanese-style rooms on the river side that retain the traditional atmosphere, and rooms on the river and mountain sides with beds.

Room types are as follows

(PR)

Japanese-style room on the river side

All rooms have a washroom and toilet and no bath.

All rooms are 20 square meters in size, so there are no large rooms, and we do not recommend this for those who desire a spacious room.

Amenities include a tea kettle, tea set, refrigerator, hair dryer, humidifier, toothbrush set, towels, bath towels, yukata, yukata (Japanese bathrobe), yukata snow shoes, face and hand soap, cleanser, air purifier, and hot water basket.

About the Baths

Honkan Kosekiya has two stylish indoor-only baths: a new black inkstone bath and a white tiled Taisho bath, both of which have been completely renovated.

The men and women in the two large baths are switched by the hour.
(PR)

The Honkan Kosekiya has only an indoor bath, so those who wish to take a large open-air bath can use the large bath at the sister inn, Senkyo no Yado Ginzanso, free of charge.

About the cuisine of the meal

There is no restaurant in Honkan Kosekiya, so dinner is served at either Nogawa-tei or Yusemuri Shokudo Shirogane, both of which are located in the hot spring resort area.

Nogawa-tei is located 150 meters from Honkan Kosekiya.

On a fine day, you can go there while strolling in the hot spring resort area.

At Nogawa-tei, you can enjoy seasonal course meals.

Nogawatei is located on the second floor, so you need to climb the stairs to enter the restaurant.

Yumemuri Shokudo Shirogane can be used mainly for dinner, but it is also a restaurant that can be used when you want to have a few more drinks after dinner at Nogawatei, as it has a large izakaya-like menu.

Shirogane is located 90 meters from Honkan Kosekiya.

Shirogane is also available for lunch after checking out.

Breakfast is served in the lobby lounge and is Japanese style.

Breakfast dishes include 9 kinds of side dishes, grilled fish, hot spring egg, stewed sweet potato, rice, miso soup, and dessert.

You can have another helping of imoni and mitsumo and rice with mitsumo and mitsumo rice, so you can eat a full meal.

The contents of the dishes change depending on the season.

word-of-mouth evaluation

Contributor A.
This was our first trip to Ginzan Onsen as a couple and the room and food were excellent.
We love to drink, so we were very happy with the all-inclusive all-you-can-drink policy.
It was a great deal because my husband could take out drinks and I could take out sweets and relax in the footbath.

Contributor B.
This was my first visit to Ginzan Onsen, which I have longed to visit.
I had heard a lot about the hospitality of Koseokiya, but I was able to experience it firsthand, just as the rumors said.
Each of the two indoor baths had its own atmosphere.
The staff was courteous and pleasant, and we had a pleasant and comfortable stay.
