Access, room types, cuisine, and baths at Kosekiya Bekkan, a retro wooden building in Ginzan Onsen

About Kosekiya Bekkan

Kosekiya Bekkan is a ryokan located in the middle of Ginzan Onsen, making it a convenient place to explore the hot spring resort area.

The five-story Western-style wooden building with a retro exterior has become a symbol of Ginzan Onsen.

The night view is very nice when night falls and the gas lamps are lit.

The exterior of the Koseokiya Annex is retro in appearance, but the inside of the ryokan has been renovated to make your stay more comfortable, and there is an elevator so you do not have to go up and down the stairs.

All rooms in the Kosekiya Annex are spacious, with two rooms connected to each other. In addition to the tatami-mat Japanese-style rooms in the main building, there are also Japanese-style rooms with beds in the annex on the mountain side.

The rooms on the river side are Japanese-style rooms, but you can enjoy the view of the Ginzan Onsen from the room windows.

The onsen baths are also spacious and open, as this is a large ryokan.

The meals served at the Koseokiya Annex are also highly reputed to be very delicious.

About Access

Kosekiya Bekkan offers a shuttle service from JR Oishida Station, so it is recommended to make a reservation to use the service.

If you are driving a rental car, the parking lot is located 200 meters in front of Ginzan Onsen.

The parking lot is shared with the sister inn, Ginzanso.

If you park your car in the parking lot and contact the inn, a car will come to pick you up at the parking lot.

About the rooms

The rooms at the Kosekiya Bekkan are river-side rooms with good views, but the river-side rooms are Japanese-style tatami mat rooms, so you will sleep on a futon on the tatami mats.

If you do not like sleeping on futon bedding, you can choose a room on the mountain side where you cannot enjoy the view, but there are twin beds in the room.

In addition, the rooms in the Kosekiya Bekkan do not have toilets as well as baths.

Therefore, you will have to use the public restroom in the hallway.

If you prefer to have a toilet in your room, choose a Japanese/Western style room on the 5th floor, the top floor.

The room types are as follows.

Two Japanese-style rooms, no toilet

About the bath

word-of-mouth evaluation

Contributor A
The room was not on the river side, but it was spacious with a Japanese-style room and a bed in the bedroom with two TVs.
There is a small bathroom, but no toilet.
There are four women's toilets in front of the room, and two of the five rooms on the third floor are without toilets, so we did not share with others.
Meals are served in the dining room on the second floor both in the evening and in the morning.
We had delicious meals at the table, including Japanese and Western-style stewed potatoes, a small bowl of rice with radish, and Tsuyahime.
There is no open-air bath, but there are two baths, and a man-and-woman exchange by time.
The smell of sulfur is faintly felt in the hot water.
Personally, I liked the bath in the annex here.

Contributor B
The exterior was very nice and the indoor atmosphere was great.
The food was all delicious and we were very satisfied with our stay.
Above all, the staff were wonderful and their thoughtfulness warmed my heart.
If I have the chance to visit Ginzan Onsen again, I would definitely stay at Kosekiya Annex.
