Kusatsu Onsen's Yuyado Tokinoiwa has 23 different types of bathtubs and two different sources of hot spring water.
There are also private open-air baths for those who wish to enjoy the hot springs privately.
In addition, all rooms have an open-air hot spring bath.
There are also suite rooms available for an elegant stay.
All rooms have two beds, so if the number of guests is limited to two, there is no need to sleep on a futon on the tatami floor.
The location of Yuyado Tokinoiwa is about 1.1 km away from Yubatake, so it takes 20 minutes to walk there, which is not convenient for sightseeing in Yubatake or the hot spring resort area.
A shuttle bus to Yubatake runs from 5:30 p.m., so those going to Yubatake sightseeing at night may want to use this service.
At Yuyado Tokinoiwa, free yonaki soba (buckwheat noodles) for the evening meal is served at 10 p.m., free ice cream and Yakult are served at the rest area after taking a bath, and free snacks are offered since dinner time is late, starting at 8 p.m., and are very popular.
Yuyado Tokinoiwa is recommended for those who want to fully enjoy the baths in the large public bathhouse with many bath tubs or in the private open-air baths.
Yuyado Tokinoiwa provides a scheduled shuttle bus service from the Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal to the inn.
For those traveling by Shinkansen bullet train to JR Karuizawa Station, a reservation-only shuttle service from JR Karuizawa Station is available.
For those traveling by rental car, there is a 70-car parking lot on the inn's premises where you can park for free.

If your budget does not allow you to stay in a Tokinoniwa room with an open-air bath in the room, but you want to enjoy the two large baths, you may want to stay at the Oyado Konoha.
The rooms at Konoha are smaller than those at Tokinoniwa and do not have a bath in the room, but the public baths are shared, so you can enjoy the baths at a reasonable price.
There are two large baths at Yuyado Tokinoiwa, with men and women switching at different times.
The 64 rooms at Yuyado Tokinoiwa are shared with the affiliate Oyado Konoha, which is located next door, so guests staying at the 47-room Oyado Konoha can also use the baths.

word-of-mouth evaluation
Contributor A.
We stayed for two days.
Since we stayed with breakfast and dinner for both days, I was worried about what kind of meals we would have, but both days we had different and delicious meals.
Although we did not eat in our room, we were able to eat in a private room and in an isolated dining area, so it was nice to be able to eat without worrying about our surroundings.
The baths were of the Kusatsu Onsen variety, with men and women switching baths, so we were able to enjoy two different baths.
Contributor B
The front desk, directions, welcome drink, room, shuttle bus, dinner, and staff service were excellent.
The dinner was a course and the timing of the food coming out was very good.
As for the hot spring, the guest room open-air baths are run from the source, so even in the room you can enjoy Kusatsu's famous hot spring water with its sulfuric aroma.
There are three private open-air baths, and the open-air baths are too large for two people.
