About Hotel Sakurai

Sakurai in Kusatsu Onsen is a large hotel with 169 rooms and a very large, 30-meter-long bath, which is a popular hot spring hotel.

For dinner when you stay at the hotel, you can choose not only a kaiseki dinner but also an all-you-can-eat buffet.

At the buffet, you can eat as much or as little of your favorite dishes as you like.

You can eat as much tempura, sushi, sashimi, and glutinous pork steak as you like, which are popular with visitors from overseas.

The quality of the buffet food is high, so you can enjoy the delicious food.

Of course, you can eat as many desserts as you like.

The rooms are not only Japanese-style rooms, but also Western-style rooms with beds and Japanese/Western-style rooms, so those who do not like futons on tatami mats will have no problem.

One of the most popular events at Hotel Sakurai is the Yumomi Taiko (hot spring drum) show held after dinner.

About access

Hotel Sakurai offers a free shuttle service from the Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal, so when you arrive at the bus terminal, just call the inn and they will pick you up.

It is 400 meters from the Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal to Hotel Sakurai, so it takes about 6 minutes to walk there.

For those who are going by rental car, parking for 300 cars is available on the hotel grounds, and you can park here free of charge.

Hotel Sakurai is a short distance from Yubatake, the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen.

It is possible to walk there, but the road on the way is not a hot spring resort.

Therefore, it is convenient to use the free shuttle bus that runs free of charge to get to Yubatake.

About the Rooms

Hotel Sakurai has two buildings: the six-story Main Guest House and the 16-story New Guest House.

The rooms in the main building are standard rooms, while the upper floors of the new building offer more elegant accommodations.

The top floor of the New Guest House has suites for those who wish to enjoy the highest level of accommodation.

In addition, some rooms in the main guest rooms have an open-air bath in the room.

Although the open-air bath is not a hot spring, it is recommended for those who wish to enjoy an open-air bath in their room.

It is a large, luxurious hotel with excellent customer service, and the kaiseki cuisine was surprisingly delicious.
The bath was spacious, relaxing, and open.
Breakfast was a buffet, but there was such a wide variety that it was impossible to choose everything.
The delicious food, the service from the hotel staff, and the hot springs all made for a very satisfying stay.
The transportation to and from Yubatake, the hot spring baths, and the taiko drum show were all very enjoyable.

I have been to Kusatsu many times, but this was my first stay at Hotel Sakurai.
First of all, the staff who greeted us at the front entrance was wonderful, and afterwards we were surprised at the spaciousness of our room.
The various services were excellent, including a welcome drink, free ice cream after bathing, a shuttle bus to and from Yubatake, a Yumomi show, and a taiko drum show.
The hot spring bath was spacious and very pleasant, and we were very satisfied with our stay.
