The ryokan's location is good, just a minute's walk from Yubatake, making it a very good ryokan for sightseeing in Yubatake and strolling around the hot spring resort area.

Because of its proximity to Yubatake, guests can bathe in Yubatake's hot spring water at the Osaka-ya baths.

The hot water of Yubatake is said to be soft among the hot springs of Kusatsu, which are highly acidic.

All rooms to stay are Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats, and there are no rooms with beds.

The large public baths also have an open-air indoor bath and an outdoor bath, and are well-received as a relaxing way to enjoy Kusatsu's hot springs.

About access

It is 400 meters from the Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal to Osaka-ya, so it takes about 4 minutes on foot, but a shuttle service from the bus terminal is also available.

If you are driving a rental car, the parking lot is located away from the inn, so get out of your car at the entrance of the inn and leave your keys with the attendant, who will take you to the parking lot.

The parking lot has space for 30 cars, and parking is free of charge.

About the Rooms

All rooms at Osaka-ya are Japanese-style rooms.

Therefore, when sleeping, you will lay out a futon on the tatami floor.

All rooms have a bathroom, washroom, and toilet.

There is also a cave bath for women where the atmosphere of being surrounded has a healing effect.

For those who wish to bathe privately, there are private baths that can be reserved for a fee.

For those who do not like to bathe with others in the large public baths, we recommend the private baths.

The private bath is located outdoors and is called “Iwato no Yu,” which is a rock bath made by hollowing out the surface of a mountain.

Iwato no Yu is men-only from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

word-of-mouth

When you pass through the entrance, a spacious and calm lobby and a calm and warm welcome from the staff await you, giving you a sense of the beginning of your trip.
Even though the hotel is right next to Yubatake, there was no noise or bustle, and I was able to relax and enjoy my stay.
And the food was wonderful.
The beef sukiyaki course was a very generous portion of melt-in-your-mouth Jyoshu beef, but it was delicious and I ate every last morsel.
The fresh sashimi from Niigata was also served.
The chef's enthusiasm was evident in the ingredients such as lily bulb and sea urchin, which are not usually available in Japan.
The beautiful proprietress, dressed in a gorgeous kimono, greeted us, and I was so excited that I couldn't help but slur my reply.
I stayed three nights, but I would like to stay longer.

Although the area around Yubatake was crowded with many people, we were able to spend a quiet and relaxing time at the inn, forgetting the hustle and bustle of the area.
The hot springs, rooms, and meals were all wonderful, but the best part was the hospitality we received, which made our trip even more enjoyable.
Since we came to Kusatsu Onsen by bus, we were able to ask for luggage storage after check-in and check-out, as well as transportation to and from the bus terminal, so we could enjoy exploring the area in comfort.
